Living well with Global Developmental Delay

EarlyEd is a partner with Western Sydney University, Murdock Children’s Research Institute, Noah’s Ark and a group of families with children with a diagnosis of Global Developmental Delay.
EarlyEd’s speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, behaviour specialists and specialist educators support the partnership through their expertise in early intervention and working with families who have children experiencing developmental delays from birth. We share the knowledge and experience of these families from our communities.
Together we have developed the Living Well With Global Developmental Delay website, an Australian resource for families, their children and the professionals who support them.
Our vision for the website is to provide information on Global Developmental Delay that is detailed, accessible and evidence-based. It is information you can trust.
Here you will find written materials, a learning module and videos featuring individuals and families living with Global Developmental Delay as well as the professionals who work with them.
The materials have been developed through a partnership of parents with experiences of their children living with Global Developmental Delay, professionals working in the area and researchers.
Our working group of parents has advised on
- what information families need and
- how it should best be presented.
This project titled Living Well With Global Developmental Delay was one of 37 awarded to organisations across Australia to provide three years of funding for activities that will increase the accessibility, quality and consistency of information available for people with disabilities, their families and carers, and for relevant supports and services.
The National Information Program was first implemented under the Inclusion Linkages and Capacity Investment Strategy.
Since receiving this funding it has been renewed to continue being updated with new resources and insights from families.
If you have a story to share about your experiences please contact EarlyEd or via the Living Well with Global Developmental Delay website https://globaldevelopmentaldelay.com.au/contact-us/
It is our hope that the information provided will help those using it to live well with Global Developmental Delay and to help those who support them.
