You and your child are the most important members of your team.

The EarlyEd team uses a family-centred approach.
You are the key decision makers.

Your EarlyEd team works together, with you and the other people and services supporting your child as a Team Around Your Child.

This means everyone plans and prioritises the goals and services for your child’s early childhood intervention.

Your Team Around Your Child could include:

your child and family,
extended family
your EarlyEd team,
other service providers such as private therapists
early childhood education services
school and
other community organisations.

Being a partner in the team gives you choice and control about how you want to support your child.

There are opportunities all through the day for children to develop and grow where they live, learn and play. Family members understand their child best because they know what their child is experiencing every day and how things work for their family. They know what their child likes and doesn’t like, what demands and challenges they face and what helps and doesn’t help.

Your team

Families benefit from an early childhood intervention team finds ways to make the most of these learning opportunities. A team who works together plans services that prioritise what your child needs to be learning first. They also look at ways to work on the goals you have set while supporting other areas of development at the same time.
