There’s only one dad like you by Jess Racklyeft
To honour all the “caring dads, daring dads, wise dads, fixer of all that is broken dads, builder of best surprise dads, you teach me about this great big world and how to enjoy the ride dads” or any father figure in your life, we will be celebrating Father’s Day by reading a heartfelt book about DADS. So come join us for this wonderful celebration – and don’t forget to tell your dad or grandad, uncle or father figure to join in the fun.
How can reading There’s only one dad like you help support your child’s learning?
- The text is simple, rhythmic and repetitive, making it easy for children to understand and follow.
- Descriptive words are used throughout the book, providing many opportunities to learn new words and build on vocabulary.
- The illustrations match the text, allowing children to see different examples of the meaning of the text. This helps strengthen comprehension and helps children make connections to the message of the story.
- The illustrations feature animal families engaging in everyday experiences, making the story relatable, providing opportunities to make connections between the story and their own family experiences.
