Read these stories about Trish and Michael to hear more about how their contribution makes a difference to local families.

Trish

Trish has been a dedicated volunteer with EarlyEd since February 2022.  Trish creates an environment where others genuinely enjoy volunteering alongside her. Her presence is a source of delight for EarlyEd staff and fellow volunteers alike.

As a mentor and instructor, Trish leads a small team of volunteers at EarlyEd’s North Sydney centre, guiding them in the production of visual resources that are used to support children with developmental delays and resources. These materials are vital tools used by children to support their attention, memory, communication and comprehension, as well as by their families, therapists, educators, and schools. Trish’s commitment extends beyond resource creation.  Her generosity, leadership, and unwavering support make her an invaluable part of the EarlyEd community. Patricia is truly a treasure – and a most deserving recipient of this year’s Community Services Award tonight.

 Michael

Michael has been a valued member of the Up and Over Volunteer Team at the EarlyEd Cubby House Toy Library since May 2024. As part of the Upskill program, he has shown remarkable growth and dedication. Michael was one of the first participants in the Cubby House Toy Library’s Strong and Resilient Communities (SARC) project, fostering inclusive volunteering. Since joining the Cubby House Toy Library Team he has become a beloved figure, welcoming families and assisting with the toy library setup. His creativity shone through when he designed and sold stickers, donating the proceeds. Michael’s contributions exemplify the spirit of inclusive volunteering and community engagement. He is a cherished member of the Toy Library.

It is only with volunteer support that we operate the Cubby House Toy Library and make sure of staff can provide families the extra support they need.
